The Glossary was slightely modified.
The OF Calendar section was updated.
A new article on Greek Calendars was added and the Egyptian Calendar article expanded. The Glossary was also slightly expanded. The starting date of the era of the Persian calendar was corrected in the Epochs and Eras section.
Broken links were removed from the Calendrical Links.
The incorrect treatment of fractions of days when entering a non-integer JD in the Calendrical Calculator was fixed.
The Persian calendar section was slightly revised and the Conversion tables between Jewish and Gregorian calendars removed. The calculation of the Sunday after Christmas was corrected in the Easter Calculator and a broken link removed from the Calendrical Links.
A new Chinese calendar section was added. The Epochs and Eras page was slightly expanded and revised, the Julian calendar section slightly revised and the Glossary expanded.
The OF calendar section was slightly edited and expanded.
The Calendrical Calculator results now include dates according to the New Julian calendar and the calendar proposed by J H Mädler.
The Calendrical Calculations section was revised and expanded. The French Revolutionary Calendar page was slighty revised and expanded.
Some errors in the Easter formulas section of the Calculation of Easter article have been corrected. The List of the adoption of the new style was reworked. The Coptic and Ethiopian calendar section was slightly expanded and the Tax Year in the Ottoman Empire section changed.
The Roman Calendar section slightly reworked and a link added to the Calendrical Links.
A new Coptic and Ethiopian Calendars page was added.
The Calculation of Easter page was slightly expanded and some internal technical modifications were made.
The Glossary was expanded. The Calendar Page and The Mayan Calendar were slightly reworked.
The Calendrical Links were expanded and broken links removed.
A section on Leap Year Pattern and Year Length was added to the Calendrical Calculations.
A site was added to the Calendrical Links.
A Calendars in India section added. A section on leap year patterns and year lengths was added to the Calendrical Calculations section.
A new article about Reform proposal by J H. Mädler and the New Julian Calendar was added. The Islamic calendar article was slightly reworked as well as the general appearance of the Calendar Pages. The Islamic and Coptic calendars were added to the Calendrical Calculator. For the ancient Egyptian calendar, besides the name of the month, its number within the season is given.
The Calendrical Links were updated.
The Basics of Time Reckoning article has been completely reworked. Furthermore, the paragraph on the Gregorian reform of The Calculation of Easter was substantially expanded. A new feast faul was introduced in the OF calendar and the respective article slightly reworked.
An overhaul of the whole project was necessary due to technical changes of the web server.
Besides that a Glossary was added explaining the most important calendrical and astronomical subjects. A new feature was
added to the Easter Calculator: It shows a list of the ecclesiastical sundays.
An error in the Easter calculator was corrected.
The Calendrical Links have been extended further and some broken links removed. Entries not older than 1 month are now marked accordingly.
New links have been added to the Calendrical Links, and the pages listed there now open in a separate window.
A table for the conversion of dates has been added to the Persian Calendar section. An error in the given length of a molad (s. Jewish Calendar) was eliminated and the article on the OF Calendar worked over.
Almost all articles of the projects have been reviewed and the structure changed. An Easter Calculation form was added, which should also work without JavaScript support. In addition, there have been some technical modifications.
Guest book and discussion forum had to be deactivated due to considerable technical problems. They hopefully will be available again soon.
The Tables for converting Gregorian dates into dates of the Jewish calendar have been splitted into an English and a German version. In the German
page on the Jewish calendar there have been changes in the spelling of the Jewish month names.
A second occurrence of a source has been eliminated in the Sources page.
The navigation has been completely refurbished. Navigational lines on top and bottom of each page contain a guided tour through the whole project.
The links to other resources in the web have been put on a Links page while the Sources are now to
be found on a special page, too.
There is a new article on Epochs and Eras of some calendars.
The article on the Egyptian Calendar has been extended.
Now, dates of the Jewish calendar can be computed with the Calendrical Calculator. The Layout has been changed slightly
and a button added which allows to compute the actual date.
In some texts, the German "Anmerkungen", which was forgotten to be translated, has been replaced by "Remarks".
The Mayan calendar section has been slightly expanded.
David Peterson discovered some errors in The Calculation Of Easter. The Swedish Easter Sundays in the years 1802, 1805, and 1818 were celebrated a week later (not earlier) than Gregorian Easter. In the Beginnings Of The Year paragraph another two errors had to be eliminated concerning Spain and England.
A new paragraph about the Basics Of Time Reckoning was added, and some small alterations done concerning the navigation within the pages.
The headline of table 1 of the Tables For The Conversion of Gregorian into Jewish Dates suggested the table reaching until the (Gregorian) year 2199; in fact, for practical reasons, it includes the years 1800 to 2099 only.
The calendar page and navigational possibilities were improved. The layout has been slightly changed.
Done! The calendar pages have all moved to their new home http://www.ortelius.de/kalender/idx_en.php. The history paragraph of the Jewish calendar section has been extended, too.
The calendar project was transfered to the new domain Ortelius.de for tests to be carried out.
A guestbook is now available.
The Calendrical Calculator has been improved. Now, Ancient Egyptian dates are computed, and the presentation of the results was changed, but one won't be able to see that with certain browsers.
A new section about the ancient Egyptian calendar was added.
The different beginnings of the year have been described in detail, and some errors corrected. Planned next is an ancient Egyptian calendar section.
An article about the calculation of Easter was added, including a form to compute the date of Easter in any year of the Julian and Gregorian calendar.
Mayan calendar and French Revolutionary calendar sections have been added, while the Roman calendar section was revised strongly.
The calendrical calculator was extended by adding the Mayan and French Revolutionary calendar. The code was revised, and range checking was removed in order to keep the file size limited.
Finally, the calendar discussion forum was established for an intensive exchange of information on any of the various calendars.
