On this page, some information about me is to be found. I was born in Leipzig in 1972 and grew up in a suburb, now part of the city. After finishing school I became an apprentice at the then Zeiss plant in the town of Jena. After three years, I was a mechanic and attended the Jena university, studying physical engineering sciences. Soon I went to the Technical University of Berlin, where I studied mechanical engineering gaining the diploma in june 1999. Since July 2007 I work as an engineer for a company developing and building components for scientific installations.

There are several topics which I am interested in. First, I deal with history, especially Saxon history. It has to be said, that the Saxony of today has nothing to do with the Saxons which once crossed the North Sea to conquer Britain. Their Saxony was destroyed in 1180 because the Saxon duke became too powerful - at least in the eyes of the German king. Only since the 15th century the name "Saxony" became common for the territories of the Meißen margrave, of which the federal state (Land) Saxony is only a quite small remainder. Dealing with history I had to find ways to come up with the several calendars in use over the centuries. I found it exciting to get deeper into this. This is why I created the Calendar Page.
