Calendrical Calculator
Type in the date you want to convert in the line of the respective calendar and click the "evaluate" button.
The calendar used in most
countries is the Gregorian calendar (first line of the form).
To convert today's date just click the "today" button.
See disclaimer and validity notes.
No guarantee can be given for the dates computed, as errors are always possible. If the result of a conversio
n is critical, or money,
time, or workforce is to be spent depending on a conversion, further sources must be consulted to check the dates.
No range checking is carried out. On the results window, check the date entered (printed with bold letters).
For instance, a date
32 December 1999 will be treated as 1 January 2000.
Gregorian dates before 15 October 1582 will be computed but given italic as this calendar was not used b
efore that date.
Dates of the Julian calendar before 1 January 8 CE will be printed italic because there have been s
ome irregularities in
the use of the calendar before the year 761 a. u. c., which was our 8 CE. For the same reason, Roman dates
before the calends of
January 761 a. u. c. (1 January 8 CE) will not be given.
The Jewish Calendar was fixed around the 10th century. Thus, Jewish calendar dates up to the 10th century are
printed in italic
letters as they probably do not correspond to the dates then used. An Adar II given in common years will be treated as Ada
r.
In France, the Revolutionary calendar was officially used from 24 November 1793 until 31 Dezem
ber 1805,
inclusive. However, it is possible to compute the dates of the Revolutionary calendar from 22 September 1792 (which w
as - in theory -
1 Vendémiaire I) until 22 September 1806 (which would have been the 5th complementary day XIV,
had the calendar not
been abolished). Dates that can be computed but are not in the period in which the calendar was valid are printed italic.
Mayan calendar dates are computed according to the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson correlation. The Mayan date 0&nb
sp;Pictun 0 Baktun
0 Katun 0 Tun 0 Uinal 0 Kin is considered to correspond to 6 September 3114 BCE (Julian). This da
y is described by
Tzolkin date 4 Ahau and Haab date 8 Cumku; at least in this point the different correlations agree. By leaving aside
the larger Mayan time
units Calabtun, Kinchiltun, and Alautun, the supported range is "limited" to Julian dates (JD) between 584283 and 58184282, inc
lusively.
